I am writing this Eulogy from Scotland. I never met Joanne, infact she knew nothing of my
existance.... and I knew nothing of hers up until now. Like the rest of the world I sat in sheer
horror as I watched the events unfold on 9/11 2001. I recall being 17 at the time and just finshing
a music exam when I switched on the news to see complete devestation in NYC. Joanne was one of the
2996 lives that were lost that day.
I would like to pay tribute to Joanne personally because i have became involved in project2996. A
project that has been set up to ensure the world does not forget. This project assigns each member
to a 9/11 victim. In my case this is Joanne Rubino.... An angel of 9/11.
Joanne was only 45 years of age when her life sadly came to an end on that fateful morning of 9/11.
Joanne worked for Marsh & Mclennan in the world trade centre for more than 20 years and was devoted
to her job.
Joanne was extremely family orienated and her mother stated "I used to tell her, `Every mother
should have a daughter like you.’ " said Mrs. Rubino, 74. "So thoughtful, and to other people
too.".
Ms. Rubino couldn’t pass a homeless person without giving money. One blustery winter day she gave
a street person her scarf. "She figured he needed it more than she did," Mrs. Rubino said.
When her mother became seriously ill a few years ago, Ms. Rubino had to stop visiting her brother,
Anthony, in Louisville, Ky.
"She thought of the family before she thought of herself," Mr. Rubino said. "That’s the most
outstanding point I can make about Joanne."
Joanne, wherever you are, i pray you have found peace. There is so much evil in this world and it
breaks my hear to think of you and all the other innocent victims that lost thier lives that day. It
was not your time!!!!
You are in my prayers Joanne, I will be visiting NYC this Christmas!! I will leave you the brightest
flower..... Just to let you know I am thinking of you

This tribute was created by me as part of project 2996. Each member of this porject is assigned a victim of the 9/11 disaster. you are assigned to me. Can I please take this oppertunity Joanne to say it has been an emotional journey researching your life and the last moments of it. However it has been a pleasure, in some strange way I feel like i know you now and it makes this anniversary all the harder.
The idea of this memorial was to ensure people never forget, but the people who have stopped by and lit a candle on your page just proves the world still remembers. This is it now joanne, the 11/09/09 - 8 years later. I will continue to remember you on this day for the rest of my life. You will be kept in my prayers!!!

I too have been watching the tv programs about 9/11 - OMG - I could not believe that any human being could do this atrocity to another human being. I believe what goes around comes around and I pray that these monsters get whats coming to them.

I have been watching all the programmes on 9/11 recently. Watching the different angles of photography and all the horrors of that day. It is not easy watching.....from the comfort of your front room. So many deaths, such grief and so much pain for so many.
Rest in peace Joanne and all the others that died on that fateful day. Pray they are working on a higher level to put an end to terrorism and all that take part. x
i wont ever forget that day it is locked in my mind forever in god we trust and you and the thousands who left this earth that day will always and forever be remembered i will light candles on this day for you and all the other hero,s and people who went with you xxxxxxx

It is so easy to turn the channel when this disaster is on our tv sets, its easy to ignore that this awful inhumane thing happened!!! BUT IT DID!!! and we must of course move on - but never forget xxxx
